A week of experiences

A lot has happened in this last week!
Thursday I drive to Fillmore after school, hop in the car with Lincoln and Russel (lincoln's coworker) and we all headed south. It was snowing from Fillmore to Beaver. As we are driving there is a little toyota truck that started fish-tailing on the slick road. Nuts! He was able to control the truck but I'm sure they peed a little :) Super Scarey. We dropped off Russel at his in-laws place and Lincoln and I headed to Mesquite. It was really fun to just hang out with my hubby. We needed a little time away but together (ha ha that was corney). We only lost about $100 so not too bad of a trip.

Friday morning we headed to St. George. Kati had her bridal shower that evening so until then, Lincoln and I just hung out and went shopping around. I walked into the hotel to check in (we had booked online) the lady said that our name wasn't in their system. So I showed them my receipt and they said, "this is Comfort Suites not Comfort Inn." Woops..wrong side of the freeway :) We did make it to the right hotel and it was a great room! Definitely would stay there again.

Kati's bridal shower was tons of fun! I got here a little candy jar full of "fun stuff" and she got a lot of other fun stuff from friends and family. Her little man is growing up so big! It was a blast seeing that whole family again. Love those guys!

Saturday was really windy and rained a little but that didn't stop us from going shopping! Kati and I hit the outlets and ate at Iggy's. I had such a fun time and love hanging out with Kati! Oh I wish you lived closer...or we lived closer :)

Sunday we headed home...Lincoln took Monday off, vacation from vacation is what he said. Silly man. I had a test that day so I spent the time studying. Lincoln left about ten that night and around ten thirty I get a call from him...He popped a tire and is stuck on the freeway, a mile away from the last Nephi exit. Oh man! I was so bummed for him and was glad to go rescue him. Thirty minutes later I was in Nephi pulling up behind the Challenger and two police vehicles. They were making sure everything was ok. After they took off we waited for the wrecker to come get our poor car :( and waited...and waited...then a phone call. Lincoln had told him the wrong exit so the wrecker had to backtrack. Woops. The wrecker showed up, loaded the car, took it to a tire place in Nephi, and about 12:30 we got a slurpee at 7-11 and headed back to Spanish Fork! It was definitely a long night but everything worked out.
Tuesdy, the next day, I had school till four. After, we headed to Nephi to get Lincoln's car...if anyone happened to notice, it snowed Tuesday...a lot! I had volleyball in Fillmore so we both headed. It was a 30-40 mph, one-lane freeway, covered in snow. Crazy ride home but we made it in one piece.
I wonder what this next week will bring....

tis the season...

This time of year in Utah is certainly the weirdest. A little rain here, maybe a little snow here, oh and lets add in some sunlight here. :) This is the time of year when you turn your AC on during the day and heater blasting when the sun goes down. Many people love the beginning of Spring but for me it's just a confusing time.
You walk through department stores and see cute skirts, tanktops, and swim suits! Oh but then you walk outside in your boots, coat, and umberella. This time of year really pulls at my style ideas. I spend extra amounts of time standing in front of my closet wondering what to wear today! I purchased these super cute skirts at American Eagle but just can't seem to stay warm long enough to wear them around outside yet! And the tights style is still hard for me to get right Ha Ha.
I had these random thoughts on my way to Orem today to take a test....in my sweater, jeans, and slippers (I find it valuable to be comfortable while taking a test...this means no style intended). And I can't wait to spend next weekend in St. George where I'm hoping it's warm enough to wear my new skirts!

Thanks to attending Bobbie's Stampin Up party, Emilee taught us how to do this quick and easy layout for cards :) The heart one on the far right is the one we put together at the party and I made the other two today. Super Cute!

Cupcakes...Again!

Jerrica and I made cupcakes last night :) we were up to midnight having a blast. We put in the movie Julie and Julia, but ended up talking and making cupcakes instead! I did watch the movie just barely and it is really cute. It is one of those inspirational chick flicks...kind of like after watching Chocolat, Becoming Jane, or Last Chance Harvey. Maybe you guys have seen similar movies and understand what I'm talking about. By the way, I really like those movies I mentioned :)
Anyways...

these cupcakes are super duper cute. We made the little bees (yes that is what they are) with yellow jelly beans, wrapped with tootsie roll for the stripes and white spice drops for the wings. If you have been in the grocery store lately you may have seen the Family Circle magazine, these are the featured cupcakes on the cover. They aren't perfect but I believe we did a darn good job. Especially for these being my second batch of cupcakes I have ever decorated :) We continued our creativeness by adding little sprinkles behind the bees as if it's their little "buzz" path, I guess you would call it. And the random flowers were made out of the other colors of spice drops.

Now that I have decorated ladybug cupcakes and now bee cupcakes, I only have orange, white, black, and green jelly beans left :) What to do next.......................

Harlem Globetrotters

I bought tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters on Monday, February 8th. I asked on Smithtix for the best seats available and we got section 19 (courtside) seats 17 and 18, and row B. I was nervous about the whole "row B" thing. We have Jazz season tickets and we have never heard of this row B. :) It ended up being the second row from the court! As you can tell by how close we are to the players. This show/b-ball game was really fun. These guys are great and very talented! Everyone should take the opportunity to see them live. I posted two pics but you really have to see these guys in motion to really understand. so I will put a few videos too :P

Bridal Pics....a year later

I still fit into my wedding dress after a year! Super happy about that :)

Kristen Hakes needed a model to help out with her photography portfolio, so I decided to help out. She did a great job! Jazz Game

We went to the Utah Jazz vs Denver Nuggets game on Saturday the 2nd. Our party included Lincoln's gma Mary Downard and gpa Downard, Becky, Dewey, Lincoln and Me, Em and Nic, Becky's sister Cece and her husband and kids, and also Becky's brother Joe and Stacy with their kids. (sorry I didn't remember everyone's names. It was the first time for me to meet this side of the family)
Before the game, Dewey and his cousins went to the Jazz's warm-up during the day and got alot of autographs as they left practice. They were staying at Little America, which is across the street from the Grand American hotel where Denver Nuggets were staying, so they all ran over there, too, to get autographs from those players. They all had a blast even before the game started :)
Our fabulous night started with a dinner hosted by the energy solutions arena. The dinner room was set up for our party of 22, and was postitioned between the player's family's room, the press room, and also the opposing team's locker room. So you could say we were the center of attention :) While eating, Deron Williams walked by our room, Lincoln asked for his autograph and D-Will said politely, "not right now". Lincoln was pretty bummed but we will keep trying for his "John Hancock". Also, Brewer ran by twice and gave Dewey a high-five the first time and nuckles the next. Dewey was the only one he acknowledged. :)
One of Joe and Stacy's sons had an allergic reaction to something he ate. His face broke out in a rash but he was breathing fine. So while in the tunnel, the E.M.T. had to run over to help out. Turns out that I had a Benadryl in my purse so I actually was his rescuer ha ha
The next step of our awesome night would have to be my all time favorite! For anyone that has gone to a basketball game, you know that the players have a warm up before the game starts where they shoot around. Well....we got to stand in a line while the players came out on the floor and give them all high-fives and 'go-fight-win's! It was way fun to see them all that close up. What was really funny is that most of them held their hands in fists and all stiff like they didn't want all us crazy hicks to touch them. Ha Ha. Loved It!
Lincoln's gma bought the family tickets, row 16, 18, and 19 behind the hoop in lower bowl. And then gma and gpa got row 6 tickets! Since we have season tickets, we put our seats up for sale. They didn't end up saling so during the first quarter I ran up to the upper bowl and found a cute couple to bring down to the lower bowl! It was way fun to surprise strangers like that! My friend Sammi was there also at the game. I haven't seen her since her wedding so that was really good to see her.
